Payroll/Accounting Clerk

Summary

Location: Los Angeles

BMC Group is seeking an Accounting Clerk to process national and international payroll through ADP and Paychex. This position requires a multi-faceted individual whose responsibilities span multiple functions in support of the company’s finance team.

Payroll Responsibilities:
  • Perform complex clerical duties involved in the preparation and processing of
  • semi-monthly payrolls for multi-state and international employees (Paychex and ADP)
  • to ensure accuracy of subsequent check writing
  • Liaise with Payroll firms to assure accurate tax reporting and other mandatory filings.
  • Liaise with Human Resources staff on payroll updates relating to benefits changes
  • and new hire payroll set up
  • Provide reports as needed to the Finance department; participate in audit preparation
  • Develop Paychex reports for data transfers to Netsuite (accounting software)
  • Distribute checks


  • Accounts Payable/Finance:
  • Reconciles processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.
  • Charges expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports;
  • recording entries.
  • Maintains accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions.
  • Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
  • Maintains historical records by scanning and filing documents.
  • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.


  • Operations Support:
  • Maintain corporate contracts including leases, company insurance and worker’s compensation.
  • Renew business licenses annually for multi-state locations
  • Assist with facilities management as needed
  • Other administrative support duties as assigned


  • Qualifications:
  • Associates degree in Business Administration desired
  • 2-3 years payroll administration experience a must
  • Computer literacy; Excel, Access, Visio, Word, Outlook, etc.
  • Extremely good detail orientation
  • Capable of maintaining high levels of productivity with little supervision
  • Ability to work well with multiple teams (Accounting, Finance, HR), across multiple locations
