Derek Patterson
Operations Manager, Western US
Derek is currently the head of BMC Group’s West Coast VDR Operations. Derek has more than ten years experience in financial consulting and planning, sales, and project management. This experience includes work as a corporate bankruptcy consultant, aiding companies with their insolvency and reorganization goals. Derek joined BMC Group in 2003 and has managed many of BMC Group’s largest M&A transactions. In his years at BMC Group, Derek has had an integral part in developing BMC’s best in class VDR platform, leveraging his past market experience and consulting background.
Prior to assuming his current responsibilities, Derek’s financial investment experience included facilitating institutional trades averaging over $500 million daily with one of the largest independent global investment managers, AMVESCAP, PLC. He assisted with portfolio advisory and management duties of all AMVESCAP’s Institutional Funds. His management team focused on funds that were invested in fixed income securities.
Previously, Derek was an outside sales associate for Platinum Equity’s telecom division and generated over $1m revenue annually, acquiring numerous sales recognition awards. A native of Texas, Derek earned his Bachelor’s degree with a double-major in Business Administration and Environmental Studies from Baylor University.
