Myrtle (MJ) John
Senior Manager, Restructuring

Ms. John has been with BMC Group for 6 years, and brings extensive experience working in the Debtor-side of restructuring. Prior to joining BMC Group, she worked at Pachulski Stang Ziehl Young Jones & Weintraub (PSZYJW) for 8 years as a Senior Paralegal and Paralegal Administrator in Restructuring Department of  their Los Angeles and Delaware offices. At PSZYJW, Ms. John lent her skills as the lead paralegal on several cases of varying degrees of complexity, including, Sizzler Restaurants, TIE Communications and other Chapter 11 cases in the restaurant, telecommunications and insurance industries. Prior to her tenure at PSZYJW she was Senior Paralegal and Paralegal Administrator at the Los Angeles boutique bankruptcy law firm of Levine & Eisenberg for 13 years.

Ms. John holds an MPA, from California State University, Northridge. Ms. John comes to us from warmer climates, having migrated from the nation of Trinidad & Tobago to attend Rockhurst College, Kansas City, Missouri, where she began her undergraduate education in Political Science with the intention of going to work with the United Nations and eventually returning to her island home to become involve in politics.  However the opportunity of employment with a law firm changed her career course.

At BMC Group Ms. John has been the project manager on several cases, including Fleming Companies, Inc., Dade Behring, HomeLife, Startec, Vartec and UHP HealthCare, and has provided invaluable assistance on many others.
