Mr. Bakhshian joined BMC Group in 2002 with over 15 years of experience in bankruptcy cases as an attorney and as a consultant and paralegal representing debtors, creditors, committees, trustees and other interested parties in insolvency and restructuring matters. He brings a wide range of experience in bankruptcy administration as well as an in-depth understanding of the impact of insolvency on a broad range of business enterprises, including, transportation, insurance, finance, telecommunication, manufacturing, retail, healthcare, and energy.
Prior to joining BMC Group, Mr. Bakhshian practiced with the boutique bankruptcy law firm of Hagen & Hagen and the national firm of Epstein Becker & Green where he specialized in Chapter 11 reorganization. As counsel for numerous debtors, Mr. Bakhshian has handled all aspects of a bankruptcy case, from pre-petition planning through Plan confirmation and distribution. He also served as an extern to the Honorable Robin L. Riblet, U.S. Bankruptcy Judge for the Central District of California. As a senior consultant at a nationally recognized claims administration consulting firm, he led teams in numerous high-profile cases, including Pacific Gas & Electric, Washington Group International and At Home Corporation.
In his current role as a Senior Manager at BMC Group, Mr. Bakhshian has led teams in middle market cases and some of the largest and most complex restructuring cases ever filed:
Mr. Bakhshian earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California at Los Angeles and his Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School. He is admitted to practice law in California State and Federal courts. He is a current or past member of the American Bar Institute, Financial Lawyers Conference, Los Angeles Bankruptcy Forum, California Bar Association and Los Angeles Bar Association.
